So, someone in the comments asked about my host family, and I was going to eventually get around to telling everyone, so I guess now is as good of time as any.
My señora, Maria is great. She is a teacher at my school (though not mine, thank heavevns, that would be awkward. Because of her triplets, she only works in the morning, and there were no positions at the university for morning teachers, so she only substitutes this semester. She does all of the cooking and laundry, and I am pretty sure she comes into my room to organize things, but I keep everything pretty organized, so it is only little things that I notice, like the garabage is empty, and the paper on my desk is straighter. She has her hands full taking care of the kids, and sometimes seems tired, but is always really nice and helpful.
Jaime (pronouced hi-may, not like the English way) is my host dad and he is pretty funny. He always is joking around, and reminds me a little bit of Troy. This morning I asked where to find a mug for coffe, like he had, and he responded that there was only one, and it was his. He is pretty sarcastic, and at first it was hard to understand, but it is okay now. I just feel awkward sometimes because he will make jokes and I know he is joking...but I don´t get it, so I just sort of laugh...
The kids...are a handful. They are Maria, Antonio, and Fransico. Maria is by far the shyist, and hasn´t really warmed up to me. Antonio is so far my favorite, because he uses my name when he talks to me (with is cute Spanish accent so it sounds like Samanta) and he is the one who always hugs and kisses me. Fransico is insane. He is always off the wall, and is kind of the leader of them all, so when he is particularly malicious, the others are moreso. They always scream for like an hour when it is bed time...For some reason I thought three year olds were older than they actually are...
Nothing is really expected of me in the host home, that I know of. I keep my room straighted, and I help to clear the table, but only because I feel wierd not doing it. I eat all of my meals there (breakfast, lunch - 2 or 3, supper - 9 or 10), but I don´t think I´m expected to. I usually go out in between the meals, to class or just around the city, and they are ok with that. I don´t have a cerfew or anything either (Jaime said by around 7am).
I have class from 9 to 1, and since I haven´t gotten any homework yet, I spend the rest of my time walking around exploring. It is a big city, and while I am still unfamiliar with most of it, I think I might have found my favorite spot last night. It was about 11, and I was walking and I happened past a small alley that was inbetween this huge gothic like building, and it looked inviting. I strolled down, eventually figureing out the building was the cathedral, and it opened up in this square that was the stone steps leading up to the front doors. It was pretty enclosed, and there was no one else there, and when I looked up, I could see the stars. It was amazing, standing there infront of that beautiful church in the crisp January air, with nothing to do but enjoy it.
Hasta luego.
P.S. When you write comments, if you don´t put your name on them, I don´t know who they are from :)

Hi Sam
I really enjoy reading your messages. Sound like things are going pretty good. Did you get the results of your placement test yet and are you happy how things turned out.
Talk to you soon...
Sam
Sounds like everything is going well while you transition to a whole new family and life, which by the way sounds so cool! I read this last message and found it funny that you were just walking down a alley all by yourself just exploring! Good luck with your test results and school!

Hi Sam! It is so great reading all your comments. I can't believe all the great places you are visiting! Some day you'll have to take me there and show me around! Sounds like school is going good for you. I've enjoyed looking at all the pictures you put out here for us to see. It all looks so beautiful!
We are all doing fine otherwise. We are starting to wind down from hockey. CJ does have a jamboree this weekend in Hutch, and then Collin has a tourney the following weekend close to Duluth. Then we're pretty much done for this season. Courtney asks when you're coming home. It was so cute the day she cried when she knew you were leaving. You aren't missing much here as far as the weather goes. Boy it's been crummy. Also cloudy and cold it seems.
I'm sure time is going fast for you over there. Probabally not fast enough for your mom and dad though. We will miss you for Easter coming up. Take care! I'll be in touch!
Love, Jen, Tim, and kids
