So I was in Barcelona this weekend, which was fun, but exausting and stressfull. Our flight from Granada was late, so we didn't get in until a little before 1am on Saturday. We made it to the hostel eventually, only to find they didn't have beds for us...so we slept on the couches in the common room, under another common room full of people. That was fun...On Saturday morning, after not enough sleep, we hit the Picasso Museum, which was very cool. We then walked up and down Las Ramblas, a touristy street with a ton to see. Along the way we cruised into the Mercat (very cool). That evening we saw a light and water show in the Font Magica, also very cool (yes, I am feeling particulaly descriptive today). We had a relaxed meal, walked a bit, and found a quaint bar that was full of locals (not a tourist besides us in sight). It is nice to go into real Spanish bars, because it is not uncommon for the table next to you to wip out a guitar or two, and start clapping and singing, which we happened to be lucky enough to enjoy this night. After a tea, we headed to the new hostal, where we had real beds.
The next day was jam packed with a morning trip to la Sagrada Familia, a Gaudí designed church. It is set to be finished in 2025 (so if anyone wants to come back with me, I am starting a sign up list. We should be able to teleport by then, so we will save money on flights and hotels). After that we headed to Parque Güell, another Gaudí beauty. We then walked around a bit more of Las Ramblas, and headed to the airport in time to wait for another delayed flight to Granada. I got in to a rainy Granada just in time to just miss the last bus to my area of the city, but in enough time to catch a bus to an area at least close to my area. I still had a ways to walk. That was fun.
But overall, Barcelona is a fun city. I would love to be able to spend more time ther. 2025 everyone. See you there.

Oooh! Sign me up! Probably my friend Megan, too. She's obsessed with Barcelona. Obsessed. Actually, she plans to live there someday, so never mind. Maybe she'll let us sleep on her floor. But I digress...
2025, eh? That'll make us 37...we'll probably have families. That's weird. Well, this will be a vacation for me, so no need to reserve extra spots! ;)
Anyway, how was the Catalán? Did you like that?
I'm glad you didn't have any troubles with the Basques. Kaia said they ended their cease fire. Maybe they've resumed it by now. I was in Barcelona too. I like the Las Ramblas and I saw one Gaudi house as I was on a bus from the airport--oh, and the Beach! I got to touch the mediterranean. That was special. You got to absorb more of it though. Tell me you stayed at Mambo Tango Hostel!!
Audrey! The Basques aren't in Barcelona...
And btw...either one of you, even though you probably won't read this...I was watching Motorcycle Diaries the other day and their raft was called Mambo Tango. I don't know if that was a coincidence or not...
