What this is all about.

The title at the top of the page is in Spanish, and translates to "under the gypsy moon," which is the url of my site. It is a line from my favorite Spanish poem (so far), by Federico GarcĂa Lorca. There is definitely something lost in the translation, if you read the English version. The Spanish version is very poetic, and I would say it is worth learning Spanish, if only to read the poem. I will help you out, if you want to take on that task :)

Also, everyone feel free to comment. I will probably post more if I know that people are reading, and I am sure I will love to hear the news from everyone in the States. I will try to post links to sites that are relevant, as well as stories and pictures from my adventures.

The red dot on the map shows about where I will be in Spain, for anyone who was curious. Granada is about 2.5 hours from Seville, 4.5 from Madrid, 9 from Barcelona, and under 300 miles from Algeciras, which is a 30 minutes ferry ride from Morocco, Africa.

So, I suppose I should start packing...

I see you got that black line in the side bar.

Will you teach me Spanish so I can read the poem?

That black line took me the entire movie, plus fifteen minutes to figure out. And I would love to. :)

So I only get 4 pictures of Madrid and 11 of Granada? I don't want you wasting your time on a computer while you are there so you better promise me a slide show once you are back!

Have the most fabulous time as I know you will!

Best,
Jess

Hi Sam,

glad to hear things are going well.
It's been so cold here. It didn't even make it above zero last saturday. Tim was in the hospital for 5 days last week. He came down with viral meningitis. (sp). He's had a touch 8-10 days. The kids are otherwise busy with hockey yet. Collin's team lost their 1st game last weekend. Collin couldn't play this past weekend either, cuz he had strep. He is back practicing this week now. It's been busy, but we are otherwise all doing okay. If there is an address where we can send you something, can you pass that on to us? Take care and continue having fun and enjoying the experience!! We miss you! Love, Tim, Jen, and kids
