Getting Closer

Well, I fly out on January 4th, which, for anyone who is keeping track is 13 days away. I will fly into Madrid and meet a couple other girls from Winona and we will stay in a hostel for a couple of nights before we meet the rest of the Winona group and fly to Granada, where I will be spending the semester.

Once in Granada I will meet my host family, who I don't know much about, except their family name, and that I think I have little triplet host brothers, which is exciting. Another girl from Winona will also have the same host family as me, so that is a little less terrifying.

Until next time...

Hi Sam....it was great seeing you at Christmas yesterday. We'll be thinking of you as time gets closer to the 4th. I know you'll have a great experience. I can't wait to read all the fun stuff you'll be doing! We'll stay in touch! Love, Jenny, Tim and kids

Okay, this is what i can think of now.
-Always plan for departure on arrival. When you get somewhere, makesure you know how you are leaving again.
-There is a solution to every problem. It might not be cheap, convenient, or ideal, but there is a way
-If someone comes up to you on the street, keep an eye out, incase they are working with someone else who wants to come from behind and get your bags. I don't know anyone who was pick pocketed, but be careful.
-Bring a padlock for lockers in hostels, if you choose. Find ones that have breakfast and/or sheets included, are near city center or have kitchens ('self-catering') so you can make your own stuff. This usually means they will have an oven, microwave, fridge and shelf space, along with cutlery and things.
-Oh, and you got this one. Have a fabulous trip. And if you are nervous when you get there, remember to give yourself time. It will be great.
